Wie der Morgenstern durch die Wolken...
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG

O schaue hernieder, o leih mir dein Ohr!
Deiner Gnade Schatz senk' in's Herz mir herein
Hellfunkelnd wie Gold und Edelgestein!

As the morning star breaks through the...
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
As the morning star breaks through the clouds,
Let Thy countenance shine upon me once more!
As the sun shines full of splendour upon Thy house,
Pour upon me as well, Lord, Thy peace!

Let my heart glow as the rose glows,
Let it bloom as the lily blooms beside the water!
Let me grow green, Lord, as the olive tree grows green,
Ah, for my transgressions, for all of them there has been atonement!

  My pleading rises like incense,
Oh look down, oh incline Thy ear to me!
Drop the treasure of Thy grace into my heart,
Sparkling like gold and precious jewels!
