by Bernhard Elis Malmström (1816 - 1865)

Stilla, mitt hjerta! Snart hvilar du...
Language: Swedish (Svenska)
Stilla, mitt hjerta! Snart hvilar du sött
djupt i den ensliga mullen;
ofta du yrat, men snart är du trött,
längtar till grönskande kullen;
der i de susande lindarnes frid
snart du får slumra och bida din tid.

Troget du klappat - år ifrån år -
fröjder och sorger mig delat;
vållat mitt löje och vållat min tår,
vållat min skuld, när jag felat.
Men om du bröt, du dock aldrig var kallt,
glödde och stred - och led framför allt.
