Min stamfar hade en stor pokal,
en jättepokal av tenn.
Mitt hjärta blir varmt, när jag bräddar den
och höjer den i min sal.
 
Då susar ur ölet en minnessång,
vars strofer flamma som bloss.
Gud hjälpe att våra barn en gång
må höra den sången om oss!
