by Rainer Maria Rilke (1875 - 1926)

Stimme eines Armen an der Hand des Engels
Language: German (Deutsch)
Mitte im Gerichte,
Vater, ich verzichte:
Was ich seh, erreicht
nicht, was ich immer wußte:
die rauschende Herrlichkeit
aller meiner Verluste.
Weißt du denn, wie weit
meine Gefühle waren,
wenn ich in deinen klaren
irdischen Nächten stumm
saß vor dem Nachtasyle?
Hunde gingen herum
um meine großen Gefühle.
Meines Herzens Vermögen
nahm unendlich zu
unter den Brückenbögen.
Und der Schnee im Schuh,
er zerging mir lind
wie die Tränen zergehen
einem getrösteten Kind.
