Restons au bord de cette route sombre, 
arrêtez-vous, attendons, mon enfant! 
Autour de nous les périls sont sans nombre 
et nous sommes seuls, les outrageant. 

- Un chant! Un chant! 

Comment chanter dans ce noir si vide, 
offrir un son à ce néant, comment? 
Ne sens-tu pas la nuit enfantanticide 
qui guette tout ce qui paraît naissant? 

- Un chant! Und chant! 

Chante`? Quoi? - Cet être qui renonce, 
l'indifference de ce demi-vent? 
Les pierres qui nous faisaient mal? Les ronces? 
Ce traître chemin sous ce pied vacillant? 

- Un chant, un chant! 

Eh bien, je chanterai dans ton oreille. 
Et ce sera ce mince voilier 
que l'on construit dedans uns bouteille 
avec ses mâts et vergues, tout entier, 

qui restera dans ton coeur transparent.
