Fließet ein Bächlein hin,
Lieblich um seinen Rand, 
Blümchen erblühn!
Blümchen mir wohl bekannt
Pflückte im Heimathland
Einst sie für ihn.

Sah ich wie frischer Thau,
Sie auf der schönen Au
Jeder Tag neu erblickt
Wie dieses Blau,
Als ich's für ihn gepflückt
Immer mich so entzückt
O dieses Blau.

Blümchen ihr seid noch gleich
Wie an Bedeutung reich
Denket auch er nicht mein
Lieb' ich doch euch.
Lieb' ich doch treu und rein
Ihn und nur ihn allein
Lieb' ich in euch.

Blümchen blüht immer hin
Wenn ich auch nicht mehr bin,
Blüht hier um Bächleins Rand
Blüht dort um ihn.
Sagt ihm welch starkes Band
Die, die er so verkannt
Knüpfet an ihn.

My favourite flowers

Peacefully through delicate green
A brooklet flows,
Beautifully around its banks
Little flowers spring up.
Flowers well known to me
That in my homeland I once
Picked for him.

Like fresh dew, I saw them
Upon the beautiful meadow,
Every day saw anew,
How this blue,
When I picked it for him,
Always entranced me,
Oh this blue.

Flowers, you are still the same,
So rich in meaning,
Even if he does not think of me,
I still love you.
I nevertheless truly and purely love
Him and him alone
In you.

Flowers, continue blooming
Even when I am no more,
Bloom here along the brooklet's banks
Bloom there around him.
Tell him what a strong tie
[Binds] her, whom he so misjudged,
Binds her to him.
