Einsame Wellen, einsame Lieder
Language: German (Deutsch)
Einsame Wellen, einsame Lieder,
strömet dahin ohne Rast und Ruh,
denn gleich den Wogen rauschenden Stromes
fluthet mein Lied der Vergessenheit zu.
Wie an den öden, reizlosen Ufern
wälzet der Strom seine Wellen dahin,
so in dem todten einsamen Leben
brausende Lieder mein Inn'res durchzieh'n.
Wie sie auch fluthet jegliche Welle,
rasch ohne Wählen zum Meere doch zieht,
lass was du singest mit ihnen eilen,
einsame Welle, einsames Lied!
