Vezzosette e care
Language: Italian (Italiano)
Our translations:  ENG GER
Vezzosette e care
Pupillette ardenti,
Chi v'ha fatto avare
De'bei rai lucenti?
S'io rimiro i vostri
Sguardi scorgo sol fulmini e dardi:
Nè veder so piu quel riso
Che rendeva si vago il viso.

Chi v’ha fatto oscure,
Pupilette belle,
Che serne e pure
Rassembrami stelle?
Chi m’ha tolto i dolci rai?
Dillo, Amor, se tu lo sai!
Dillo, e sia quel che si fia
O disprezzo o gelosia.

Non più, sdegnosette,
Rimirar vi voglio,
Né più, superbette,
Soffrir tanto orgoglio.
Che veder, s’io non v’offesi,
Vostri rai di sdegno accesi,
Pupillette, è ingiusto duolo.
O ridete, o prendo il volo.

Charming and dear
Language: English  after the Italian (Italiano)
Charming and dear
fervent eyes,
who has made you stingy
with your beautiful, lustrous gleams?
If I look at your
glances I can only see flashes and darts:
Nor can I see any longer that smile
that made your countenance so elusive.
