Noch schöner mit jeder Stunde
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG
Noch schöner mit jeder Stunde,
Wie weit wir schauen zurück,
Noch reicher wird unsre Wonne,
Noch größer wird unser Glück!

Wohl frag' ich immer mich wieder:
Was kann denn schöner noch sein,
Als dir, als dir in die Augen
Glückselig schauen hinein?

Herzliebste, was soll's noch werden,
Herzliebste, wie mag's noch gehn,
Wenn Zwei im innersten Grunde
Wie wir, wie wir sich verstehn!

More beautiful with every passing hour
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
More beautiful with every passing hour,
However far we look back,
Our bliss becomes even more plenteous,
Our happiness becomes even greater!

To be sure, I ask myself ever again:
What can be yet more beautiful
Than to look into your eyes,
To look blissfully into [your eyes]?

Dearest, what shall yet become of it,
Dearest, what might still happen,
When two in their innermost souls
Understand each other as we do!
