by Matthias Jacob Schleiden (1804 - 1881), as Ernst

Auf Schiras Rosengarten
Language: German (Deutsch)
Auf Schiras Rosengarten
Blickt mild der Sterne Pracht,
Und über duftenden Blumen
Wölbt sich die dunkle Nacht.

Die zarte Purpurrose
Quillt auf aus lichtem Grün,
Der Zephir lauscht und liebt sie,
Eilt sehnend zu ihr hin.

Er küßt die holde Blume,
Genießt das böchste Glück,
Sie giebt in süßem Dufte
Ihm jeden Kuß zurück.

Wie holde Sterne leuchtet
Der Liebsten Augenpaar;
Als dunkle Nacht darüber
Wölbt sich ihr schwarzes Haar;

Und unter diesen Sternen,
Und unter dieser Nacht,
Als holde Rosenknospe,
Ihr süßes Mündchen lacht.
