by Wilhelm Holzhammer (1870 - 1907)

Das Grab
Language: German (Deutsch)
Ich hab ein Grab gegraben
In einem stillen, stillen Grund,
Da weint kein Auge Tränen,
Da klagt kein trauriger Mund.
Da ist es schweigendöde,
Die Schatten liegen weit,
Und grau und starr am Wege
Hockt da die Einsamkeit.

Nur wenn die ersten Sterne
Heben die Lider empor,
Und aus den drängenden Wolken
Scheu lugt der Mond hervor,
Geht ein seufzendes Wehen
Durch das tote Tal
Das ist meiner weinenden Liebe
Unstillbare Sehnsuchtsqual.
