The birch tree

Green glimmering,
Silver shimmering,
Glancing, dancing,
Into our woods and hills
Birch came
Down from the mountains.

Blended of snow and flame,
Of singing rills
And leaping fountains,
She fills
Our land with delight.

Sun and wind love her
And at night
O how bright
Are the stars that hover
Above her!
