Wat zoet geluid

Wat zoet geluid , wat fijn , hoog- tonig schallen
doorwaait de zuilengangen van het bosch,
liet elke boom de schoonste liedren los,
en zingen zij nu samen, allen , allen ?

Zie ginds die zwammen , staand of omgevallen,
gespikkeld, bruin, en andere weer voos - ros,
en kamperfoelie, rijk in weeldedos,
rond stam bij stam of sling'rend rond de wallen .

Hier groet ik lied'ren , die de lucht doorklinken,
hier groet ik wond'ren van het woudgebloemt,
en volg het bijtje, dat het kruid doorzoemt,

Zie zonnevuur op bronzen stammen blinken,
en hooger ' t blauw zoo licht en liefde-klaar,
dat ik maar liefst in zinnend zingen staar.
