Ach! möchte mit dem letzten Strahl 
Noch spenden alle Wonne! 

Schon kommt die Nacht; da glühn die Höhn 
Noch ein Mal auf im Dunkeln, 
Und tief im Grund wie schön, wie schön 
Der Tannen Wipfel funkeln! 

Ja! was die Welt vergaß im Leid, 
Was ihr zu hoch geflogen, 
Wie treu hat's Gott doch jederzeit 
Wie mild an's Herz gezogen!
