by Bertel Gripenberg (1878 - 1947)

Evige Eros
Language: Swedish (Svenska)
Evige Eros, eldens gud,
Ännu jag älskar din stämmas ljud.
Länge för dig jag lefde och led,
Lifsvägen lutar långsamt ned.

Evige stjärnors blinkande brand,
Längtans förlofvade fjärran land,
lågande syners lysande bloss,
Endast du, Eros, tänder för oss.

Lycka och smärta, lede och lust,
Allt var din gåfva från fjärran kust.
Diktens och drömmens dårande glöd,
Allt var en skänk af ditt öfverflöd.
