Bitteres Gedenken
Language: German (Deutsch)
Rosen ging ich aus zu pflücken,
  Morgens da der Tag erwacht,
Und im Pflücken und im Bücken,
  Immer hab' ich drin gedacht.

Dein gedacht' ich, mein vergaß ich,
Nicht vor Dornen aus der Hut,
Und ein Dorn ein böser stach mich
In den Finger bis auf's Blut.

Immer denk' ich jener Stunde
Und ich weine wenn ich's thu',
Daß mir solche bittre Wunde
  Dein Gedenken fügte zu.
