by Ernst von Wildenbruch (1845 - 1909)

Ewige Liebe
Language: German (Deutsch)
Was soll ich andres sagen
  Dir, mein geliebtes Kind,
Als immer nur dies eine:
  Ich bin dir treu gesinnt.

Dein Name steht geschrieben
  Mir tief ins tiefste Herz,
Mit goldnen Flammenzügen,
  Die fester stehn als Erz.

Wir wollen uns gehören
  Von nun in Ewigkeit,
Dich freue, was mich freuet,
  Dein Leiden sei mein Leid.

Der Leib wird welken, sterben,
  Die Seele nicht verdorrt,
Lieb' ist der Seele Blume
  Und blüht im Himmel fort.
