Mailied
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  DUT
Der Schnee zerrinnt,
Der Mai beginnt,
Die Blüthen keimen
Den Gartenbäumen,
Und Vogelschall
Tönt überall.

Pflückt einen Kranz,
Und haltet Tanz
Auf grünen Auen,
Ihr schönen Frauen,
Pflückt einen Kranz,
Und haltet Tanz.

Wer weiß, wie bald
Die Glocke schallt,
Da wir des Maien
Uns nicht mehr freuen,
Wer weiß, wie bald
Sie, leider, schallt.

Drum werdet froh,
Gott will es so,
Der uns das Leben
Zur Lust gegeben,
Genießt die Zeit,
Die Gott verleiht.

Lentelied / Meilied
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)  after the German (Deutsch)
De sneeuw verdwijnt,
En Mei verschijnt,
De bloesems spruiten
Op bomen buiten,
En vogeltaal
Klinkt overal.

Pluk gauw een krans
En maak een dans
Op groene weiden,
Ja, mooie meiden;
Pluk gauw een krans
En maak een dans.

Wie weet, hoe snel
Al luidt de bel,
Dat wij om Meischijn
Niet langer blij zijn.
Wie weet hoe snel
Al luidt de bel.

Dus wees verheugd.
Dat doet God deugd,
Hij heeft ons 't leven
Voor vreugd gegeven.
Dus pluk de dag
Die God je gaf.
