by Oskar Ludwig Bernhard Wolff (1799 - 1851)

Der Ausgewanderte
Language: German (Deutsch)
In Sorgen ohne Ruh'
Bring' ich mein Leben zu.
Ach! wär' ich doch geblieben,
Daheim bei meinen Lieben,
Im theuren Vaterland,
Wo meine Wiege stand.

Die Welt ist groß und weit,
Noch größer ist mein Leid.
So viel das Jahr an Tagen,
Hab' ich des Tag's an Plagen.
Trüb' blick' ich auf das Meer,
's bringt keine Grüße her.
