by Louis-Alexandre Fortoul (1870 - 1948), as Ludovic Fortolis

Elsa la brune
Language: French (Français)
First voice
Dans le mystère de la nuit monte la lune,

Second voice
On ne perçoit plus aucun bruit depuis la dune.

First voice
Qui donc pourtant gémit là-bas ?

Second voice
Écoute ! c'est le glas d'Elsa la brune.

Both
 Sur la mer immense
 Un bateau s'élance
 Et brave les flots,
 A son bord il porte
 La princesse morte
 Qu'éclaire un falot.
 C'est la fiancée
 Pâle et délaissée,
 D'Elric aux yeux verts,
 Qui, sans sépulture
 Erre à l'aventure
 Depuis cent hivers.

First voice
Dans le mystère de la nuit monte la lune,

Second voice
On ne perçoit plus aucun bruit depuis la dune.

First voice
Qui donc pourtant gémit là-bas ?

Second voice
Ecoute ! c'est le glas d'Elsa la brune.

Both
 A travers l'espace
 Sans bruit elle passe,
 Ainsi qu'un esprit,
 Mais une nuit sombre
 S'arrête dans l'ombre
 Du château maudit.
 Et la descendance
 Du roi sans vaillance
 Entend jusqu'au jour ;
 Blême d'épouvante,
 La morte vivante
 Clamer son amour.
