Oublieras‑tu que d'heures douces....

Oublieras-tu que d'heures douces 
Nous enterâmes sous les mousses 
Du bois suave de l'amour 
Et nous amoncelions sur elles 
Des fleurs et des feuilles nouvelles 
Et c'était, ces feuilles d'un jour, 
Nos espérances alors vertes; 
C'étaient, ces fleurs à peine ouverte,
Nos bonheurs fané sans retour.
 
- Oublier ces heures passées - 
Et les bienheureuses pensées? 
Un spectre veille et ne veut pas 
Mon âme est une tombe noire 
Que garde en priant la mémoire 
Et le regret me dit tout bas: 
«Les félicités anciennes 
Ô coeur malade 
Tout les peines 
Dont jamais tu ne guériras.»
