by Wilhelmine von Hillern, née Birch

Am Rosendorn, am Rosendorn
Language: German (Deutsch)
Am Rosendorn, am Rosendorn,
Da blieb mein Herze hangen,
Und wenn du kommst zum Rosenbaum,
Kannst du's herunter langen.

Viel Früchte trägt der Früchtebaum,
Die mög'n dir wohl behagen,
Doch solche Frucht, das glaube mir,
Hat noch kein Baum getragen.

Süß Liebchen, komm' und pflück' sie ab,
Laß nicht zu lang sie hängen,
Sonst muß sie, ach! im Sonnenbrand
Verwelken und versengen.
