by Thekla Lingen (1866 - 1931)

Verklungen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Leise ist mein Schmerz verklungen,
Klagend hab' ich ihn gesungen
In die stille Nacht.

Düfte kamen süss gezogen,
Trugen ihn auf lichten Wogen
Durch die stille Nacht.

Zieht der Seele wohl entgegen,
Die ihn sucht auf seinen Wegen,
Sehnend, bis sie fand.

Und sie schweben eng umschlungen,
Von dem gleichen Weh durchdrungen,
Durch das stille Land ...

Confirmed with Thekla Lingen, Am Scheidewege, Verlegt bei Schuster & Loeffler, Berlin und Leipzig, 1898, page 19.
