Gewiß ist Keiner in weiter Welt
Vertraut mit der Sorge Klagen,
Wie der, der sie in tiefer Brust
Bei Tag und Nacht muß tragen.

Ich bin allganz wie das Vögelein,
Das einsam flattert im Haine
So fern von der Welt, unter'm Himmelszelt:
Gott tröst', den verlassen die Seine.

Ich bin allganz wie der kleine Fisch,
Der schwimmt am Meeresgründe,
Wenn die andern Fischlein eilen zum Spiel --
Mir blutet die Herzenswunde.
