by Carl Joakim Brandt (1817 - 1889)

Nu Sol i Øst oprinder mild
Language: Danish (Dansk)
Nu Sol i Øst oprinder mild,
min Sjæl til Gud dig skynd,
bed, han i Dag dig Frelse vil
fra Skade, Skam og Synd.

Vor Tunge staa han naadig bi,
den fly fra Løgn og Tvist,
vort Øje frelse han og fri
fra Fjendens Argelist!

Han rense ud vort Hjerte godt
i hver en lønlig Vraa,
at Kødets Lyst i stort og småt
ej magt skal med os faa!

Saa vi, naar Dagen svinder hen
for Nattens Skygge bred,
maa synge glad Guds Pris igen
og tage mod hans Fred.
