Hvor kan saa let din Himmelvej du følge
rundt om den Sol, der skuer dine Saar,
og san lysgrønt bølge
Vaar efter Vaar?

Jo, thi den samme, som har bundet Jorden
Lovenes Baand,
som gav sit Folk i ørkenfjeldets Torden
Loven i Haand,
han la'r sin Sol hver fattigt Straa forgylde,
han er den Gud, som hører Støvets Bøn,
som i Tidens Fylde
gav os sin Søn.

Derfor, om al vor Lykke skulde falme,
brat staa for Fald,
altid fra Jord en evig Takkesalme
løfte sig skal;
derfor, hvor vældigt Mørkets Aander virke,
aldrig vor Bøn skal Synke til et Suk,
aldrig Herrens Kirke
rokkes et Fnug.

Lær os da, Jord, paa Aandens ørnevinge,
trofast som du,
os om vort høje Himmellys at svinge
trøstig i Hu,
Fra ham alt Lys, som vi begære,
fra ham Livsvarmen i vort Bryst,
grønnes Gud til Ære,
gyldnes til Høst.
