Abendlied
Language: German (Deutsch)
Die Sonne neigt sich in Frieden
Dem fernen Westen zu,
Und Alles ist still hienieden
Und sehnt sich nach süßer Ruh.

Die Blümelein schlummern alle,
Als wären vom Wachen sie müd;
Es sangen mit liebliechem Schalle
Die Vöglein ihr letztes Lied.

Der Mond und die Sterne blinken
So freundlich am Himmelszelt,
Sie lächeln hernieder und winken
Nur Friede und Freude der Welt.

Wir Kinder legen uns nieder
Und wünschen gute Nacht,
Und schlummern den seligen Frieden,
Denn Gott im Himmel wacht.
