Stille Liebe
Language: German (Deutsch)
Stand ein Röslein hinterm Gitter,
Frisch entblüht im holden Mai,
Schaut es fern ein junger Ritter,
Lockt' der Glanz ihn bald herbei.
Sah's mit Sehnsucht und Entzücken,
Durft' ihm doch nicht nahe seyn,
Nicht an seine Brust es drücken,
Daß es stille seine Pein!

So mußt Du, Geliebte, blühen,
Reizerfüllt, mit edelm Sinn.
So muß ich in Sehnsucht glühen,
Blicke bange auf Dich hin.
Deine Reize mich berauschen,
Sehnlich athm' ich süße Pein,
Darf ich Herz um Herz nicht tauschen
Ist doch meine Seele Dein!
