by Peter Cornelius (1824 - 1874)

Mit Sirenenlippen lade
Language: German (Deutsch)
Mit Sirenenlippen lade
Hold mich nicht in deine Näh'!
Willst du nicht im Tau der Gnade
Stillen meines Herzens Weh.

Locke nicht mich in die Schwüle,
In die Glut, die mich umringt,
Gönne Schatten mir und Kühle
Fern, wohin dein Aug' nicht dringt.

Stürzen will ich unerschrocken
In die Glut, gebietest du,
Aber erst mit deinen Locken
Binde mir die Augen zu.
