Weißt du noch, mein liebes Kind, Als wir von einander gingen? Hell drang durch die Abendluft Einer Glocke frommes Klingen. Haben uns kein Wort gesagt, Nur die Hände fest umschlungen, Atemlos so still verharrt, Bis der letzte Ton verklungen. Soll das eine Mahnung sein, Daß wir dieser Stunde denken, Und, getrennt im Weltgewühl, Zu Gott unsere Schritte lenken?
