by Johanna Voigt (1854 - 1939), as Johanna Ambrosius

Der Falter
Language: German (Deutsch)
Ein prächtiger Falter
Schwebte zur Herbstzeit
Leis' auf und nieder
Vor meinem Fenster.

Hinter den Scheiben
Blühten noch Rosen,
Die lockten den Armen
Mit lächelndem Munde.

Nicht sah er des Reifes
Tödliche Pfeile,
Die brennenden Lippen
Der Rose nur sah er.

Vergebens sein Streben
Der Süßen zu nahen;
Er küßte nur immer
Die feuchtfalten Scheiben.

Des Morgens fand ich
Tot ihn am Stäbchen
Narr der, will küssen
Was ihm unerreichbar.

Confirmed with Gedichte Von Johanna Ambrosius, sechste Auflage, Königsberg i. Dr., Ferd. Beyers Buchhandlung, 1895, page 113.
