Mein Sterben
Language: German (Deutsch)
Nacht muß es sein, wenn ich sterben will,
Nacht muß es sein und totenstill.
Niemand soll wachen, niemand beten,
Ich will allein zum Tode treten.

Und seine Hand will ich ergreifen,
Leise durch die Gassen streifen,
Bis einsame Blumenmatten
Trinken unsre düstern Schatten.

Dann beim ersten Morgenblinken
Will ich stumm zur Erde sinken;
Dort im Schoß der goldnen Ähren
Muß er mir mein Grab gewähren.
