by Christian Friedrich Scherenberg (1798 - 1881)

Fischerlied
Language: German (Deutsch)
Abend zieht gemach heran,
Dunkel wird es in der Höh,
Aus den Wellen leis und linde
  Wehn die stillen Abendwinde,
Wehts herüber von der See:
  Fischer komm! Fischer komm!
    Die See ist fromm.

Sterne zünden sacht sich an,
Grüßen schweigend ans der Höh
  Ihre tiefen, feuchten Brüder,
  Fragen still und hoch hernieder:
Ist sie fromm die See?
Und die Tiefe spricht zur Höh:
    Sie ist fromm die See.

Und herüber nickt der Stern:
Fischer komm! die See ist fromm.
  Sterne, unser Gottvertrauen,
  Fischerlicht, anf das wir bauen,
Wenn ihr es saget, sei's gewaget:
Mann und Zeug, macht fertig euch,
    Fischer in die See!
