by Karl Alfred Grauert (1830 - 1887)

Ade, mein grüner Wald
Language: German (Deutsch)
Ade, ade, mein grüner Wald,
du heit're Blumenau!
Es schlägt die bitt're Stunde bald,
da ich dich nicht mehr schau.
Es füllt die Brust des Scheidens Schmerz,
sie klopfet überlaut:
Lebwohl, lebwohl, mein trautes Herz,
du schöne Lenzesbraut.

Ade, ade, du Vögelein,
mit deinem holden Lied!
Ich denke immer, immer dein,
wenn ich auch von dir schied.
Die Abendlüfte wehen lind
um Nestes stillen Port.
Lebwohl, lebwohl, du Frühlingskind,
bald muss von dir ich fort.

Ade, ade, ihr Lüfte all,
so rein, so silberklar!
Ihr Berge, deren Wiederhall,
so still beglückend war
Nimm hin, du mildes Sternenlicht,
nun meinen letzten Gruss!
Lebwohl, lebwohl, das Herz sonst bricht,
da ich nun scheiden muss.
