by Heinrich Heine (1797 - 1856)

Sprach der Herr am sechsten Tage
Language: German (Deutsch)
Sprach der Herr am sechsten Tage:
»Hab am Ende nun vollbracht
Diese große, schöne Schöpfung,
Und hab alles gut gemacht.

Wie die Sonne rosengoldig
In dem Meere widerstrahlt!
Wie die Bäume grün und glänzend!
Ist nicht alles wie gemalt?

Sind nicht weiß wie Alabaster
Dort die Lämmchen auf der Flur?
Ist sie nicht so schön vollendet
Und natürlich, die Natur?

Erd' und Himmel sind erfüllet
Ganz von meiner Herrlichkeit,
Und der Mensch, er wird mich loben
Bis in alle Ewigkeit!«
