by Karl Rudolf Tanner (1794 - 1849)

Trübe Maitage
Language: German (Deutsch)
Ferne [flieht, ihr]1 Wolkenschatten,
Ab den jungen grünen Matten!
Störet nicht die kurze Lust;
Diese Blumen unverschuldet
Haben Schmerz genug geduldet
An des Winters kalter Brust.

Mich, wie sie, bezwingt Verlangen
Nach der Sonne schönen Wangen,
Deren Auge Freude weint!
Auch der Mensch ist eine Blüte -
Arm und krank, wenn nicht die Güte
Milder Lieb' ihn still bescheint.
