Gott und mein Lied, die beiden, Die sind mein Trost und Hort, Drum bleib' ich bis zum Scheiden So fröhlich fort und fort. Der mir das Lied gegeben, Ihm geb' ich's froh zurück, Drum blüht mir fort im Leben So reiches, süßes Glück! Und kommt das Leid gegangen, Vertrau' ich meinem Gott, Der, will mir grau'n und bangen, Mir hilft in jeder Noth. Der niemals noch gelogen, So lang die Nacht gewährt, Mir unterm Friedensbogen Das schönste Lied bescheert! Gott und mein Lied, die Beiden, Das soll mein Wahlspruch sein, Und muss ich von hier scheiden, Auch dort noch sind sie mein. Muss Alles einst verwehen, Verrückt mir nichts mein Ziel, Vor Gottes Thron zu stehen Mit meinem Harfenspiel.
