by Adolf Wilhelm Ernst von Winterfeld (1824 - 1888)

Aus Venedig
Language: German (Deutsch)
Zieht durch die Piazetta
Mit kühlem Hauch die Nacht,
Dann, liebliche Ninetta,
Sei dir mein Gruß gebracht.
Trotz deinem dichten Schleier
Erkenn' ich dich von fern,
Wie wenn durch Wolken leuchtet
Der Liebe Abendstern.

Siehst du mich auch, mein Liebchen,
Dann komm, o komm zu mir.
Es wartet an dem Ufer
Der treue Gondolier.
Der Mond versteckt sich eben,
Will kein Verräther sein.
Schnell, schnell zur zur schwarzen Barke,
Eh' wiederkehrt sein Schein.

Confirmed with Neue Berliner Musikzeitung, siebenundzwanzigster Jahrgang, ed. by Gustav Bock, Berlin: Ed. Bote & G. Bock, 1873. Appears in Poesie-Blätter: Beilage der Neuen Berliner Musik-Zeitung, erster Jahrgang, no. 16, ed. by A. v. Winterfeld.
