by Julius Mosen (1803 - 1867)

Die weiße Rose duftet
Language: German (Deutsch)
Die weiße Rose duftet
Entgegen der Sternennacht,
Die all' ihre gold'nen Wunder
Und Märchen mitgebracht.

Die Sterne zieh'n vorüber
In flammendem Gedicht,
Nur einer steht in Norden
Unwandelbar im Licht.

Ich liebe den Stern und die Rose,
Doch mehr noch dein muthiges Herz
Und die Thränen, die du geweinet
Um mich im stillen Schmerz.
