from Volkslieder (Folksongs)
Translation by Josef Wenzig (1807 - 1876)

Störung in der Andacht
Language: German (Deutsch)  after the Czech (Čeština)
Seh' ich Dich, mein holdes Mädchen,
In der Kirche betend knie'n,
Kann ich selbst zu Gott nicht beten
Geb' auf Dich nur immer hin.
Wenn ich Gott im Himmel liebte,
Holdes Mädchen, so wie Dich:
Wär' ich lange schon ein Heil'ger
Oder Engel sicherlich!
