by Karl Stieler (1842 - 1885)

Aufbruch
Language: German (Deutsch)
Die Trommel hallt durch die Straßen,
Die Pfeifer gehn voran,
So ziehen wir durch die Gassen,
Geschlossen Mann an Mann.

Da sah ich grüßen und winken
Der Mägdlein mancherlei,
Da sah ich dein Auge blinken
Wie Sonnenglanz im Mai!

Zum Sturm mag es nun gehen,
Zur finsteren Schlacht -- mag sein!
Weil ich noch einmal gesehen
Solch' fröhlichen Sonnenschein.
