by Bernhard Ferdinand Julius Endrulat (1828 - 1886)

Abendgang
Language: German (Deutsch)
Durch die kühle Herbstesmondnacht
Sind wir stumm dahingeschritten,
Träumrisch-stille lag das Städtchen
Mit dem Kirchlein in der Mitten.

In den niedern Giebelhäusern
Ist kein müdes Auge munter,
Nur der Türmer schaut von droben
In die klare Nacht hinunter.

Laß und wandeln, süßes Liebchen,
Holdumschlungen, ohne Zaudern,
Nimmer wird's der gute Alte
Unsern bösen Nachbarn plaudern.

Was er unten hier erlauschte,
Seinen Glocken wird er's sagen,
Und die werden's morgen frühe
Weit in fremde Lüfte tragen.
