Deutsches Salve Regina
Language: German (Deutsch)  after the German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  CAT DUT ENG FRE
Sei Mutter der Barmherzigkeit,
Sei Königin gegrüßet,
Des Lebens Freud' und Süßigkeit,
Durch die uns Trost zufließet.

Zu dir, o Mutter, rufen wir,
Mit Tränen seufzen wir zu dir,
O wend' dein freundlich Angesicht
Auf uns vom Himmels Throne.

Versag' uns deine Fürbitt' nicht
Bei Jesu, deinem Sohne,
Nach unserm Tode zeig' uns ihn,
Bei ihm sei uns're Mittlerin
In aller Trübsal, in Angst und Not.

O hilf uns in den Leiden,
Hilf, tröste uns und bitt' bei Gott,
Wenn wir von hinnen scheiden,
Erwerb uns Sieg im letzten Streit,
O Mutter der Barmherzigkeit!

Note: While Kohlbrenner's original text consists of three stanzas with 6 lines each, Schubert subdivided the text into four stanzas (4+4+5+5 lines). Kohlbrenner's Salve Regina has been reprinted many times in various prayer books, with small textual variations. While Schubert's actual text source is not known, comparatively close is Katholisches Gesangbuch zum allgemeinen Gebrauche bei öffentlichen Gottesverehrungen, Erster Band. München, 1810, pages 354-355.

Duits Salve Regina
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)  after the German (Deutsch)
Dag, moeder van barmhartigheid,
Dag, koningin verheven;
Gij, levensvreugd en lieflijkheid,
Die steeds ons troost blijft geven.

Tot u, o moeder, roepen wij,
In tranen tot u zuchten wij,
O, wil ons van uw hemeltroon
Uw lief gezicht toekeren,
