Die Blumenmacherin

Mit feinen Fingern nimmt Blättchen auf 
Mein Mühmchen, und legt sie zusammen,
Dann scheint das Ganze, wenn's fertig ist,
Aus Gottes Garten zu stammen.

Nur fehlt dem leider -- ach leider! -- der Duft,
Was sie Blumen nennt, meine Kleine,
Ich lege traurig sie wieder hin,
Das ist Natur nur zum Scheine! 

Da fand ich mir bald einen kleinen Trost:
Ich neige mich heimlich zur Muhme,
Und riech' ihr am Hals, wo die Löckchen sind --
Dann hab' ich die echte Blume!
