Haben Sie denn keine Gnade mehr zu geben?
Stürmisch eilt mein Leben hin
Und vergeht wie Sand im Wind :
Verirrt, verwirrt, verlassen und verschüttet
Und findet keine Ruhe mehr zu gehen.

Da die Ruh' im Innern lebt und verschlossen wartet,
Sollte ich durch ruhiges Geh'n
Und ohne Rast und voll Vertrauen
Die Schlüssel selbst sich finden lassen
Zu entschliessen meine Ruh' und Friedensglaube.

Bin ich jetzt befreit von aller Qual und Kummer ?
Ist der Tag schon da, die Nacht,
Das Licht, das Dunkel, Leben, Tod...
Einen Ander'n frag ich mal; Die Antwort
Lässt sich raten, eben, sollt' ich selbst die Antwort geben.
