by Franz Alfred Muth (1839 - 1890)

Bergkirchlein
Language: German (Deutsch)
Auf Bergesgipfel
Ein Kirchlein blaut,
Durch Lindenwipfel
Zu Thal es schaut.
Die Glocken regen
Sich im Gebet,
Und milder Segen
Wie Mailuft weht.

Dem Land zu Füßen
Hält's treue Wacht,
Mit Himmelsgrüßen
In Erdennacht,
Dem Himmel zu Häupten
Weist stets es zu,
Die Sorgenbestäubten
Zur ew'gen Ruh'.

O, Kirchlein droben,
Dein Kreuz noch blinkt,
Wenn duftumwoben
Der Abend sinkt.
Die Glocken regen
Sich zum Gebet,
Und milder Segen
Zum Herzen weht.
