by Guido (Pieter Theodoor Jozef) Gezelle (1830 - 1899)

Gij zit gezeteld op ons allen
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)
   Te Kortrijk
Gij zit gezeteld op ons allen;
uw steenen beeld kon eenmaal vallen,
doch onzer herten duizendtallen
ontvielt gij nooit een enklen keer.

Heel Kortrijk rond, zuid, west, oost, noorden,
langs Heule- en Leie- en bekeboorden
herklinke 't schoonste woord der woorden,
Maria maagd, uw naam vol eer!

Gij zijt, Maria, nog op heden
hetgeen gij waart in 't groot verleden
spijts alle mede- en tegenheden:
des Vlamings moeder immer meer.

Heel Kortrijk rond, zuid, west, oost, noorden,
langs Heule- en Leie- en bekeboorden
herklinke 't schoonste woord der woorden,
Maria maagd, uw naam vol eer!

o Moeder Gods, onz' koninginne,
o Lieve Vrouw, vol eedler minne,
al dat wij enden en beginnen
beveelt het onzen lieven Heer!

Heel Kortrijk rond, zuid, west, oost, noorden,
langs Heule- en Leie- en bekeboorden
herklinke 't schoonste woord der woorden,
Maria maagd, uw naam vol eer!
