by Guido (Pieter Theodoor Jozef) Gezelle (1830 - 1899)

Den goeden dag, dien God verleent
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)
Den goeden dag, dien God verleent,
  en laat mij nooit vergeten,
o Heere, die, met mij vereend,
  zijt in mijn hert gezeten.

Tot dat ik eens U hemelwaard
  mag volgen, te Uwer woning,
zij U alleen 't bezit gespaard
  mijns herten: blijft daar koning!

Zoo zal 't voor eeuwig dag mij zijn,
  en goed, o God, bestendig:
bij U en is geklag noch pijn,
  maar zaligheid onendig!
