De trommels slaan
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)
De trommels slaan,
de trompen gaan,
het volk versiert de wegen;
wij dragen fier,
ons Gildbannier
den blijden welkom tegen;

gevrienden al,
hoe groot getal,
zoo een, zoo al genegen;
ons Vaandel trouw,
in rampe en rouw,
in blijdschap en in zegen.

De trommels slaan:
vooruit! Wij gaan
God's zegen vrij gaan vragen,
en op die Vaan,
van nu voortaan,
hem ongeschonden dragen.

De trommels slaan:
den stap gegaan,
den sterken stap, Fanfaren;
de Vaan vereerd,
triomf vermeerd,
en duchtloos doorgevaren!
