Süßes Bild
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  FRE
  Süßes Bild,
Schwebst mir vor mit leisem Sehnen!
Klagst mit wehmutsvollen Thränen,
Tief in Trauerflor verhüllt.
  Süßes Bild!

  Wonnezeit!
Ach! umstrahlt von Frühlingsmilde,
Froh in Tempe's Lichtgefilde,
Lebt' ich dir, o Zärtlichkeit!
  Wonnezeit!

  Thränen fließt!
Thauend, wie die kleine Quelle
Rieselnd, perlend, Well' an Welle
Über Blumen sich ergießt.
  Thränen fließt!

  Alles schweigt!
Kaum, daß, in des Westes Flüstern,
Unterm Schattendach des düstern
Tannenhains, der Halm sich beugt.
  Alles schweigt!

  Holder Traum!
Fliehe nicht auf Rosenflügeln;
Weile an des Baches Spiegeln;
Such nicht des Äthers Raum!
  Holder Traum!

  Es entschwand!...
So entfloh vor Psyche's Kuße
Amor, da mit holdem Gruße
Sie: Geliebter! Ihn genannt.
  Es entschwand!

Rêveries vespérales
Language: French (Français)  after the German (Deutsch)
   Douce image,
Tu planes devant moi avec douce langueur !
Je me lamentais avec des larmes nostalgiques
Dissimulée sous un crêpe de deuil.
   Douce image !

   Heures de félicité !
Ah! entourée de la douceur du printemps,
Joyeuse dans le paysage lumineux de Tempé,
Je te vivais, ô tendresse !
   Heures de félicité !

   Coulez larmes !
En rosée, comme la petite source
Ruisselant, perlant, vague après vague
Se déverse sur les fleurs.
   Coulez larmes !

   Tout se tait !
C'est à peine si, dans le chuchotement du ponant
Sous le toit ombragé et odorant
Du bois de sapins, une brindille bouge.
   Tout se tait !

   Gracieux rêve !
Ne t'enfuis pas sur tes ailes de roses ;
Attends près du miroir du ruisseau ;
Ne cherche pas les espaces éthérés !
   Gracieux rêve !

   Disparu!...
Ainsi s'enfuit devant le baiser de Psyché
Amour, tandis que d'un gracieux salut
Elle l'appelle : bien-aimé.
   Disparu!...
